Use Instructions for the Measure & Hospital Selection
- In the “Measures” section, you may select either Medical Services or Error Prevention by clicking on the radio button in front of the name. If you do not make a selection, you will automatically see the report on the Medical Services measures.
- Medical Services includes 14 measures of heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. You may select one or more of these conditions by checking the box in front of the condition name.
- Error Prevention includes 5 measures of progress towards national patient safety goals including:
- Implement a process to mark procedure site involving the patient
- Conduct a preoperative verification process for correct patient, correct procedure(s) and correct site(s)
- Standardize abbreviations, acronyms and symbols
- Remove concentrated electrolytes from care units
- Ensure free-flow protection on infusion pumps
- In the “Hospitals” section, you can select the “Click here for All Hospitals Results” button to see the report that contains all hospitals that have provided information for your chosen measures. If you would like to narrow your search, you may use one or more of the following options.
- “Hospital name, city, or county“ --
- In this text field, you may enter a specific hospital name to see all the information in the web site about that hospital
- Enter a city in Wisconsin to see the report for all hospitals located within that city
- Enter a county in Wisconsin to see the report for all hospital located within that county
- If you do not want to narrow your search by hospital name, city or county leave the text box blank
- “Regions of State” – This is a drop-down menu that lists eight different regions of the state. Select one of these regions to see the report for all hospitals located within that region. If you do not want to narrow your search by region of the state, select the “All” option.
- “Population Type” – This is a drop-down menu that lists the options of rural, suburban, or urban. Select one of the population types to see the report of all hospitals located in that population type. If you do not want to narrow your search by population type, select the “All” option.
- “Number of beds” – This is a drop-down menu that allows you to select hospitals based on the number of staffed beds they have reported. Select one of the number ranges to see the report on all hospitals that are of that size. If you do not want to narrow your search by the number of beds, select the “All” option.
- Once you have selected the measures and hospital(s) you would like to see the report on, click “Submit.”
